Public Hearing Notices

The City of Claremont notices businesses and residents on proposed developments, appeals, and community projects. Each notice contains details of the project as well as information on the public comment process. The City is legally required to notice properties within 300 feet; however, the City may increase the area of notice if the impact of a project will extend beyond the standard notice radius.

Notice of Public Hearing - Proposed Service Changes: Claremont Dial-A-Ride Fare Changes For General Public Only and Reduction of Hours

Notice is hereby given that the Claremont City Counicl will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. 2nd Street, to receive comments regarding proposed new Claremont Dial-a-Ride fares and operating hours.

Notice of Public Hearing - City of Claremont's Proposed New User Fees

Notice is hereby given that the Claremont City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 7pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council chamber (225 W. 2nd St.) to receive comment or protests regarding proposed new City user fees and the increase in City user fees including, but not limited to Planning fees, Police fees, and Recreation and Human Services fees to cover the cost of providing City services to the community.

Notice of Public Hearing - Amendment to Municipal Code Sections (Sign Code) 18.010.010(B) and Special Use and Development Permits (SUDP) 16.306.010(S)

You are invited to attend the upcoming City Council meeting where a City-initiated amendment to the Municipal Sign Code, Section 18.010.010(B), and Special Use and Development Permits, Section 16.306.010(S) of the Claremont Municipal Code will be considered.

On December 2, 2025, the Planning Commission completed an advisory review and recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution approving the proposed Ordinance. This public hearing serves as the City Council’s first hearing and introduction of the Ordinance. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:30pm in the City Council Chamber, 225 West Second Street.

Notice of Architectural and Preservation Commission Review - Proposed Historical Property (Mills Act) Agreement at 746 Harvard Avenue

The Architectural and Preservation Commission will consider a request for a proposed Historical Property (Mills Act) Agreement for the property at 746 Harvard Avenue (File #25-MA02). The proposed Historical Property (Mills Act) Agreement is between the City of Claremont and the owners of the historic residence located at 746 Harvard Avenue. If approved, the agreement will ensure the long-term preservation of both exterior and interior character-defining features of the property by providing a tax reduction to the property owner in exchange for funding and completing restoration and renovation work on the historic property. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

Notice of City Council Review - Entertainment at La Popular Restaurant

The City Council will continue the public hearing to review a decision by the Planning Commission to allow music entertainment at La Popular Restaurant. This approval was for Conditional Use Permit Amendment File #22-C04AMD to allow live indoor music entertainment in conjunction with the existing bona fide restaurant located in the Claremont Village Overlay district on the southwest corner of Yale and Bonita Avenue at 235 Yale Avenue. The public hearing will resume on Tuesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

The Planning Commission reviewed a proposed request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Amendment for various forms of amplified music entertainment within the indoor and outdoor areas in conjunction with the existing full-service restaurant located at 101 North Indian Hill Boulevard, C-2 103. This meeting was held on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.
