Cable Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan
The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning is updating the Los Angeles County Airport Land Use Plan (ALUP), a countywide plan that ensures new development around airports is compatible with airport operations. As part of this effort, the County is developing the Cable Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (CALUCP), which will establish guidelines and standards for land development within the Cable Airport Influence Area (AIA).
Although Cable Airport is located in San Bernardino County, a portion of its AIA extends into Los Angeles County—primarily within the City of Claremont. For this reason, the CALUCP must be developed, reviewed, and approved by the Los Angeles County Airport Land Use Commission. LA County Planning staff is working closely with the City of Claremont to prepare the CALUCP and update the Countywide ALUP, which was originally adopted in 1991 and last updated in 2004.
On January 15, 2026, community members were invited to attend an in-person or virtual workshop where the project team presented an overview of the update, shared analysis, and answered questions from the public. The stakeholder workshop presentation is available in the Related Information tab below, and a recording of the meeting can be accessed here.
