Community Based Organization Grants

The Community-Based Organization (CBO) Grant Program was designed to address the social service needs of Claremont residents by supporting nonprofit agencies in developing programs, which meet both new & emerging needs of the community. Grant funding is offered under two programs: General Services and Homeless Services/Critical Need. We are pleased to again offer the program in 2026.

Grants for community based organizations are categorized two ways:

  1. Grants that provide funding for homeless services/critical need.
  2. Grants that provide funding for general services, including the categories of health and wellbeing, special needs, children/education, seniors, arts, and environmental.

The Community and Human Services Commission and the City Council reserve the right to not fund all applications. Please review the CBO Grant Allocation Policy before applying.

It is not the intent of this program to provide permanent, ongoing funding for any program or agency. However, it is the prerogative of the Community and Human Services Commission to recommend supporting services and programs that best align with the needs of the community.

Applications for 2026 will open on July 1, 2025.
