Residential Permit Parking

The City has a residential permit parking policy that sets forth criteria and a process for establishment and modification of permit zones, the processing, and issuance of permits. The residential permit parking policy may be amended from time to time by majority vote of the City Council at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

Residential parking permit zones prohibit parking on certain streets without a permit during specific hours designated by signs. Parking in a Residential Permit Parking without a permit may result in a citation. The Overnight Parking Ordinance applies to Residential Permit Parking Zones.

The Engineering Division reviews residential parking permit zone petitions and conditions and may make a recommendation to the Traffic and Transportation Commission and City Council for adoption.

Information on parking and parking enforcement, including residential parking permit zones, may be found in Title 10 of the Claremont Municipal Code Title 10 Vehicles and Traffic.

Residential parking permit zones may be found immediately adjacent to the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park and on Harvard Avenue south of Foothill Boulevard.
