Public Hearing Notices

The City of Claremont notices businesses and residents on proposed developments, appeals, and community projects. Each notice contains details of the project as well as information on the public comment process. The City is legally required to notice properties within 300 feet; however, the City may increase the area of notice if the impact of a project will extend beyond the standard notice radius.

Architectural and Preservation Commission Review - Two Story Addition, Basement, and Renovation (1155 Harvard Ave)

The Architectural and Preservation Commission will conduct a preliminary review for a two-story addition, new basement, and renovations to a single-family residence. The existing 1,715-square-foot residence will increase to 2,857 square feet. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m.in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

Architectural and Preservation Commission Review - Exterior Remodel to Residence and Floor Area (471 W Baughman)

The Architectural and Preservation Commission will hold hearing to review a proposed exterior remodel to an existing 1,111-square-foot single-story single-family residence located at 471 West Baughman Avenue. The residence is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Baughman and Berkeley Avenues. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m.in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

Planning Commission Review - CUP Amendment Walter's Restuarant

The Planning Commission held a hearing to review a proposed request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) amendment for the update of the existing CUP to reflect current operational conditions and consider proposed tenant improvements, which includes the expansion of the main bar area of the existing restaurant, Walter’s, in the Claremont Village, located at 310 North Yale Avenue. This meeting took place on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

Planning Commission Review - CUP Corner Grill and Bakery

The Planning Commission held a hearing to review a request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow The Corner Grill and Bakery to sell beer and wine for on-site consumption (ABC Type 41 License). The application proposes the sale of beer and wine at its existing location, 701 North Indian Hill Boulevard, during its existing business hours of 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday. This meeting took place on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 226 West Second Street.

Architectural and Preservation Commission Review - Exterior Remodel of Existing Commercial Building (212 North Yale Avenue)

The Architectural and Preservation Commission held a hearing to review a proposed request for an exterior remodel to an existing 2,195-square-foot commercial building located at 212 North Yale Avenue in the Claremont Village. This meeting was on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 West Second Street.

Planning Commission Review - New Three-Story Mixed-Use Residential Building in the Claremont Village (115 Harvard Place)

 The Planning Commission held a hearing to review a proposed request for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the development of a new three-story mixed-use residential building located at 115 Harvard Place in the Claremont Village. New residential development may be permitted in the CV Claremont Village District with approval of a conditional use permit, provided the residential development is one component of a larger mixed-use development. Such mixed-use development shall include commercial uses on the ground floor. More specifically, the proposal is for a 2,715-square-foot three-story building with a commercial tenant space on the first floor and four residential units throughout the first through third stories. The design of the proposed building will be reviewed by the Architectural and Preservation Commission at their upcoming meeting on September 10, 2025. This meeting was on Tuesday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 West Second Street.
