2026 Camp Dates: June 15 - August 7, 2026

Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure at Camp Claremont! Designed for children entering grades 1-6, this 8-week, Monday–Friday day camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Taylor Hall (1775 N. Indian Hill Blvd). Campers will enjoy a variety of fun activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and exciting weekly themes that will keep them engaged and active through the summer. Don’t miss out on a summer filled with fun, memories, learning, and adventure right here in Claremont! Registration and enrollment can be completed online or in-person at the Alexander Hughes Community Center (1700 Danbury Road).

Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt to be worn each day, included with their registration fee! Every week a camper attends, they receive another t-shirt! Communal jerseys will be available for children who forget their t-shirt.

Weekly Themes

Week 1: Once Upon a Camp (June 15-18)

Where imagination and adventure come to life! Step into a world of wonder as campers explore magical realms filled with heroes, dragons, and legendary tales from across the globe! Campers will strengthen creativity, teamwork, and confidence as they journey through enchanted lands. With interactive games, themed art projects, a live sword-fighting show, and a camp-wide storytelling challenge, this week is sure to end happily ever after.

*Friday, June 19, will be closed for the Juneteenth holiday, and the price for the week will be prorated.

Week 2: Big Top Carnival (June 22-26)

Step right up for a week full of color, laughter, and prizes! It’s time to bring the fair to Camp Claremont! Campers will experience the excitement of a live magician, carnival games, friendly competitions, and creative crafts that capture the magic of the midway. From classic fair contests to a camp-wide celebration, this week will be packed with energy, teamwork, and memories that make every camper feel like the star of the show.

 

Week 3: Roar & Explore (June 29-July 3)

An unforgettable safari adventure through nature’s wild side! Campers will set off on an exciting expedition through jungles, deserts, and savannas as they discover the incredible world of animals big and small. Through interactive STEM projects, scavenger hunts, and hands-on exploration, they’ll learn about habitats, teamwork, and the beauty of the wild with a live animal handler. Every explorer will end the week with new friends, roaring laughter, and memories that last long after camp.

Week 4: Hometown Heroes - Spirit Week (July 6-10)

Celebrating courage, community, and Claremont pride! Campers will honor everyday heroes while discovering the power of teamwork and service. This week features exciting visits from the Claremont Police Department and other local heroes who share their stories of helping the community. Campers will enjoy interactive activities, leadership games, and the annual Ice Cream Social with City Dignitaries. Each day will also bring spirited themes like wacky socks, wild hair, and pajama pants day, making this week a perfect blend of learning, laughter, and citywide celebration. 

Week 5: Summerween (July 13-17)

Spooky fun meets sunny summer adventures! Camp Claremont’s Summerween brings the best of both worlds with costumes, candy, and plenty of sunshine. From pumpkin painting to themed games and outdoor challenges, each day will bring laughter and imagination. With costumes, creativity, and friendly frights, this week will be a celebration that’s frightfully fun for everyone.


Week 6: Around the World (July 20-24)

Pack your (imaginary) bags and get ready to travel the globe! Campers will explore different countries through games, crafts, and snacks inspired by cultures from around the world. It’s a week full of adventure, learning, and fun.

Week 7: Over the Rainbow (July 27-31)

It’s time to brighten up the summer with Over the Rainbow Week at Camp Claremont! Each day, campers will celebrate a different color of the rainbow through themed games, crafts, and activities that spark creativity and excitement. Campers will work together on colorful challenges and express themselves through art and teamwork. It’s a vibrant week of fun in full color!

Week 8: Camp Rock Claremont (August 3-7)

Where rhythm, creativity, and confidence take the stage! This week, Camp Claremont transforms into a rockin’ showcase of sound, movement, and self-expression. Highlights include a live Drum Circle Assembly and the Lip Sync Showdown, where campers shine as stars of the stage. Through rhythm, collaboration, and creativity, campers will discover that everyone has a voice worth hearing.

Camp Claremont is open to children who live in or attend school within the City of Claremont. Proof of residency is required at the time of enrollment or when creating a new online account.

$80 per week per child (Week 1 discounted rate of $68 due to shortened week)

Camp t-shirt is included in the registration fee. All participants must wear their camp t-shirt to camp every day

Scholarship Eligibility

Need-based scholarships are available for families who meet income eligibility requirements. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least one week prior to registration for review and approval. Scholarships must be approved before registering your child for camp, as same-day approvals are not available, and scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.

JR. COUNSELOR PROGRAM:

Camp Claremont is currently seeking dedicated Jr. Counselors entering 8th – 12th grade. Applicants must have completed 7th grade to apply. This program offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable job experience, build leadership skills, looks great on college applications, and even prepares for a future role as a recreation leader, all while giving back to the community.

Jr. Counselor Information

As a Jr. Counselor, you’ll work alongside our staff, assisting with daily camp operations from 7:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Jr. Counselors will help supervise participants, set up and tear down daily activities, and assist staff in the snack bar. Committing to 6 of the 8 weeks of camp is required to ensure consistency and a smooth experience for participants. Jr. Counselors must also communicate with supervisors in advance if they are unable to attend a scheduled day.

By joining the Camp Claremont Jr. Counselor Program, you’ll demonstrate your ability, attitude, and dependability in a professional setting. Jr. Counselors will receive a Camp Claremont T-shirt to wear daily and are expected to maintain a professional demeanor while working with staff, participants, and other Jr. Counselors.

A $35 non-refundable application fee is required to apply for the program. Please note, this fee does not guarantee acceptance into the Jr. Counselor program
