Storefront Vandalism Prevention Business Grant Program

The City of Claremont Storefront Vandalism Prevention Business Grant (SVPBG) Program is available to local businesses that have storefronts susceptible to damage through vandalism and/or burglary. The City is offering grants of up to $2,000 for the installation of shatter-proof window films for businesses to prevent or mitigate acts of vandalism or burglary that could result in the destruction or damage of business storefronts. 

Grant funds will be provided on a reimbursement basis and are subject to funding availability.  Eligibility criteria and instructions on how to apply can be found in the SVPBG Program Guidelines.

Does the City have vendors that they can recommend?

Unfortunately, the City does not make vendor recommendations. We suggest that you ask other local businesses or the Chamber of Commerce for recommendations

 

Do I have to get approval from the City before I begin work?

No.  Funding is available through reimbursement only, meaning that the business has to have completed the work on or after May 12, 2025, and the dated receipts must be provided as part of your application material.

 

Where can I find a W-9 form?

The W-9 is an IRS form that can be found on the IRS website.

 

Does the City have any criteria for specific shatter-proof window film (i.e., film material or thickness)?

No, any business that meets the eligibility criteria described in the program guidelines may apply for reimbursement of any shatter-proof window film.
